Abeba Carlan, Esq.

The firm was fortunate to recruit Abeba in early 2023 because she brings broad experience in multiple practice areas.

Abeba Carlan, Esq. - Buffalo Social Security Disability & Veteran Disability Lawyer Abeba’s practice is primarily focused on Social Security Disability law and Veterans law. Her experience with Christian Legal Aid of the District of Columbia was rigorous work in Social Security law, where Abeba helped clients to navigate the intricate aspects of the disability process. Her work with the Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program in Washington, D.C. was critical in helping Veterans appeal their claims to the Board of Veterans’ Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.   Abeba’s passion for these areas of law results from observing the complex and frustrating issues of her husband’s (a retired, disabled, Gulf War Veteran) disabled veteran claims.

Abeba is originally from Italy where she earned a Master’s Degree in English and French Language and Literature, and an Italian Law degree. After receiving Master of Law (LL.M) from Florida Coastal School of Law, she passed the Washington State bar. Prior to becoming an attorney, Abeba performed for over a decade as a language instructor (Italian, French, and English) and translator in the United States and Italy.
