Stephanie Byrne, EDPNA

Stephanie Byrne joined the firm in September 2014 and has grown with the firm through nearly every stage of the case process. She began her career as a receptionist and medical records clerk, later advancing to document specialist. Over the years, she has also served as a hearing scheduler, a member of the U.S. District Court team, a case manager, and a fee specialist. Through all this experience Stephanie has developed significant competencies in researching and understanding the laws and rules in all aspects of the administration process.
Today, Stephanie serves as the firm’s Fees Team Lead and is the firm’s first Eligible for Direct Payment Non-Attorney Representative (EDPNA). In this role, she brings extensive institutional knowledge of Social Security Disability and SSI claims, with expertise in post-decision processing, fee administration, and ensuring the accurate and timely resolution of client benefits.
Prior to and alongside her work at the firm, Stephanie gained valuable experience at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where she developed a strong understanding of the complex systems and challenges faced by our nation’s veterans. This experience further informs her of an approach to advocacy and client service.
Stephanie’s professional perspective is also shaped by her personal life. After several years with the firm, she became the mother of a daughter, Charlotte, who has severe and global disabilities. Navigating the Social Security and SSI disability systems on a personal level has provided Stephanie with a unique, empathetic understanding of the challenges faced by disabled individuals and their families. She is deeply committed to serving the disabled community and takes pride in helping clients navigate a complex and often overwhelming system.
